"noir", our third and largest scale concert to date, will be taking place Wednesaday, November 28th in the Center Street Performance Studio of the Peabody Conservatory. We will have a reception with food and noir entertainment at 5:30pm, with the concert proper beginning at 7:30pm. You can RSVP to the concert on Facebook here!
When we think noir, we think of the gritty, highly stylized Hollywood noir films of the 40s and 50s. Think pre-World War II Jazz, or the private detective that gets wrapped up in a convoluted murder case. As always, all interpretations are welcome, and all pieces will be considered for this concert's program. For interested composers, the deadline for submitting compositions is Tuesday, November 13th at midnight. We are looking for a concertmaster for "noir", as well as our future concerts! The role of concertmaster carries a large amount of responsibility, and is a paid role for that very reason; you can find a list of concertmaster responsibilities linked here. If you're interested in being the concertmaster for noir, please contact us by Friday, November 2nd. If you are interested for any reason, please don't hesitate to contact the VIBES staff at VIBESpeabody@gmail.com! Performances and concertmasters do not need to be Peabody students; we had Peabody alumni Rob Neubauer concertmaster our "COMPUTER MUSIC IN 3D" event! All VIBES events are free and the reception has free food! Linked below is our poster for the event! We hope to see you there! :)
